Public Notice – Significant Weather Event

The Township of Matachewan is declaring a Significant Weather Event on December 29, 2025 at 11:00 am due to severe winter weather conditions. Due to the intensity of the storm and ongoing accumulation, snow clearing operations will take longer than usual and travel conditions throughout the municipality will be more difficult.

Due to the Orange Level Winter Storm Warning Issued by Environment Canada and forecasted snow amounts, delays are expected in the plowing and clearing of the Township streets and facilities. Public Works resources will be deployed as conditions allow.

Residents are urged to avoid unnecessary travel and to use extra caution if travel is required.
